Get Outta My Way - Review of Kylie Minogue's Performance on America's Got Talent

Kylie Minogue was on America's Got Talent last night singing her 2nd single from "Aphrodite" last night titled "Get Outta My Way". First off, I have to say I really like the song and am glad it's a single.  The remixes sound great.  It's a great single and has mass commercial appeal. Kylie looked hot at her first US performance of her songs on Aphrodite and her look paid homage to her US "Locomotion/I Should Be So Lucky" days.  My problem with the performance, and I've said this before is simply this: she can't sing the entire song live...

Corporate Ignorance and Greed: Why Should I Do Business With You?

I’m really starting to get sick of listening to big corporations complain about profit loss when they have no one to blame for it but themselves.

The Post Office keeps raising rates to justify lost revenue, the phone companies are losing millions of dollars as customers ditch their landlines for wireless technology, the music business nearly went out of business…

The one thing all of these businesses who were huge industry leaders for many years, have in common is over time they’ve all persuaded customers to do business elsewhere.

Kylie Minogue - Boombox Lyrics (Original Version)

Here are the lyrics to the original radio edit of "Boombox" which Kylie recorded during the sessions for the "Body Language" LP.  The song was also recorded by Paula Abdul but was never released in its full length form by either artist which is sad because the song is fun and has massive potential to be a smash hit.

Healthcare in America

President Obama is expected to sign the new heathcare reform bill into legislation tomorrow.  There's been a lot of talk lately about healthcare reform.  It seems that everyone has an opinion on the issue, so I thought I would voice mine.

In this article I discuss all of the problems I have seen with the healthcare industry, primarily the insurance companies.  I also include ideas on how to solve some of the problems and outline my understanding of the new healthcare bill.

Study Says 2 Sodas Per Week Raises Pancreatic Cancer Risk; Beverage Industry Says Study Is Flawed

I was reading this article on WebMD about Pancreatic Cancer being linked to soda-pop type beverages and it really got me thinking... when is enough evidence actually "enough" evidence to prove that soda actually DOES cause pancreatic cancer?

Of course the beverage industry is ALWAYS going to say the study is flawed.  When ISNT it a flaw?  When IS IT a FACT? This is true of anything I suppose- they still can't figure out if global warming is fact or fiction; although I'm sure anyone with common sense can figure that one out.

Sears Scrambles Online for a Lifeline

In my opinion the corporate suites ran out good management, they encourage high employee turnover which costs the company money and they pay less than WalMart. Lets not forget to mention that Sears prices are on the high side.  This said, the company has no one to blame but themselves- and if they actually took better care of their employees, offered reasonable prices and ran better sales the company would be in better shape.  They should have been doing more to promote their business online in the first place, rather than waiting until they hit rock bottom and then deciding to do something about it... this is what happens when employees have no personal interest in the company's success or failure; and when corporations are too big to adequately and reasonably control.

H&M and Wal-Mart destroy and trash unsold goods

This week the New York Times reported a disheartening story about two of the largest retail chains. You see, instead of taking unsold items to sample sales or donating them to people in need, H&M and Wal-Mart have been throwing them out in giant trash bags. And in the case that someone may stumble on these bags and try to keep or re-sell the items, these companies have gone ahead and slashed up garments, cut off the sleeves of coats, and sliced holes in shoes so they are unwearable.

Why I Will Never Buy Another Sony Computer

I've been a huge fan of the SONY brand for many years.  I've owned the SONY Walkman, SONY Digital Cameras, SONY Computers... you name it.  In fact, my last 3 desktop PC's were SONY computers, and I insisted that I work on a SONY computer at my office.  Recently I've noticed a couple things about about the SONY brand, more specifically the SONY Corporation's way of doing business that I don't agree with which has prompted me to decide not to do business with them.
